A Little Background on My Love for Phrozen

Before I dive into the nitty-gritty of the Arco, let me share a bit of my history with Phrozen products. I’ve been using their LCD 3D printers for various projects over the years, and each time, I’m blown away by the precision, reliability, and quality of their machines.

So, when I heard they were stepping into the FDM territory, I got excited! If my past experiences with Phrozen are anything to go by, the Arco is going to be a game-changer, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it for a test run.

The Arco: Bigger, Faster, Better

The Arco promises to redefine what we expect from consumer-grade FDM 3D printers. With quite a large max print volume of 300 x 300 x 300 mm³, an acceleration of 30,000 mm/s² (!), and a top speed of 600 mm/s, it’s clear Phrozen isn’t just dipping their toes in the water and make a Ender-3 Clone like everybody else — they’re doing a cannonball. Bigger prints, faster speeds and multicolor? Yes, please!

The Arco isn’t just about speed and size; it’s packed with innovative features that make it a standout. From dual 18 mm extruder gears and a 9.5:1 reduction ratio HGX extruder to a patented direct extrusion path that reduces the distance between the extrusion gears and the heat source, the Arco is engineered for precision and quality.

It’s designed to handle everything from the ever-popular PLA to the more temperamental TPU with ease, promising ultra-fast prints without sacrificing quality.

The Chroma Kit: A Colorful Twist

One of the coolest additions is the Chroma Kit, Phrozen’s multi-material management system that sits on the top of the printer. This bad boy lets you switch between different filaments mid-print, enabling up to four-color 3D printing right out of the gate, with the potential for more colors down the line.

Coupled with Phrozen’s PIXUP Slicer software, which promises smoother color printing and the ability to monitor your print progress in real-time, the Arco is shaping up to be a maker’s dream machine.

Why I’m Buzzing with Excitement

As someone who’s seen what Phrozen can do first-hand, I’m particularly stoked about getting to test the Arco. The specs alone have me dreaming up all sorts of projects, from intricate multi-color designs to large-scale models that were previously just out of reach. And with Phrozen’s track record of excellence, I have high hopes for the Arco’s performance and reliability.

Also, I am very curious if the multicolor system works as flawlessly like in the A1-Mini from BambuLab. That small multicolor printer is very user-friendly, but also very tiny compared to the Arco.
